Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy

The International Journal for Research in Bioscience (IJRB) is committed to the long-term preservation, stability, and accessibility of the scholarly record. Ensuring that published research remains permanently accessible is an essential responsibility of the journal.

To support this objective, the journal utilizes the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a distributed digital preservation system developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP).

The PKP PN automatically archives journal content including published articles, supplementary files, and article metadata. Content is securely stored across multiple geographically distributed preservation nodes to ensure redundancy and protection against data loss.

This distributed archiving infrastructure protects scholarly content from technical failures, cyber threats, server disruptions, or potential journal discontinuation.

The digital preservation system ensures:

  • Permanent archiving of all published journal content
  • Secure storage across independent preservation nodes
  • Protection against data corruption, loss, or platform failure
  • Long-term public accessibility to the scholarly record

Through this preservation strategy, IJRB maintains compliance with internationally recognized best practices for digital scholarly publishing and research data integrity.

Plagiarism and Academic Integrity Policy

The International Journal for Research in Bioscience (IJRB) maintains a strict anti-plagiarism policy and is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and responsible research conduct.

Plagiarism in any form—including direct copying, improper paraphrasing, self-plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication, data falsification, or the use of third-party material without appropriate citation—is considered a serious breach of publication ethics.

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools before and during the editorial and peer review process to verify originality and ensure compliance with ethical publishing standards.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts represent original work and that all sources—including previously published literature, figures, datasets, and ideas—are properly cited and acknowledged.

Manuscripts identified as containing significant similarity or unethical reuse of content may be rejected immediately without further review. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal may implement corrective actions such as issuing corrections, expressions of concern, or article retractions in accordance with guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Open Access Policy

IJRB operates under a fully open access publishing model, ensuring that all published research is freely and permanently accessible to readers worldwide without subscription barriers.

The journal supports the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), which promotes unrestricted online access to peer-reviewed scholarly literature.

Under this model, readers are permitted to access, read, download, copy, distribute, and share published articles in accordance with the journal’s licensing terms.

Authors retain copyright of their published work while granting the journal a non-exclusive license to publish and distribute the article as the original source of publication.

To ensure permanent discoverability and citation tracking, all published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).

This open access framework promotes global dissemination of scientific knowledge and supports the advancement of research collaboration and academic transparency.

Post-Publication Corrections and Retraction Policy

IJRB is committed to preserving the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the scholarly record even after articles have been published.

If errors, ethical concerns, or research misconduct are identified after publication, the editorial office will conduct an assessment in accordance with internationally recognized publication ethics standards.

Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, appropriate post-publication actions may include:

  • Publication of corrections or errata for minor errors
  • Issuance of an expression of concern where investigations are ongoing
  • Retraction of articles in cases of serious misconduct, unreliable findings, or ethical violations

All post-publication decisions follow the recommendations and procedural guidance provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The journal remains committed to maintaining transparency, correcting the scientific record where necessary, and safeguarding trust in academic publishing.
